There are 3 types of dragons that each spawn exclusively in a single biome. Stage 3 dragons spawn in nests on the surface and drop ~10-12 scales when killed. They have around 9000 hearts (18000 health). These nests have piles of allthemodium nuggets and loot chests containing Allthemodium and Vibranium nuggets and armor.
