Duramax acceleration problems.

Issue isn't consistent sometimes it will go a day maybe 2 days no issues. Sometimes it will go 30 to 50 miles then issues occur still no codes. The issue when it happens. Is as follows. The truck sputters when driving at 1500rpm to 2500rpm like poping and sputters. I have a '05 2500HD with the Duramax Diesel /Allison trans. and bought it with the stock air box and with it had very slow throttle reponse. I added on a Bully Dog Air Intake and did very little if anything to quicken it. It is most noticeable from a dead stop and hitting the throttle. It seems like it takes forever to kick in.
