Setup costs in total is gonna be 350m.adaptive is also good for tanks on f6 because of the ability of the armor but you can sometimes still die obviously. also full necromancer is cool but more expensive than 50m. as a pet I also could recommend the turtle because of no kb which is useful against every skeleton. Adaptive is garbage for f6.

Honestly, mage isn't great in f7 (especially as cata 30) w/o hyperion. I played bers until about cata 32 then switched to mage when I could afford a hyperion. I assume you're having trouble finding decent parties as a mage w/o hyperion whereas archer with bones (or even melee tank/bers/healer) might still get you into parties.
