The Dana 60 spec is just under 3 quarts. In my personal experience, the Dana 50 will take about 2.5 - 2.75 quarts to fill to the plug. As far as I know, the D50 and D60 use the same case, so they SHOULD have the same capacity. Valvoline, Castrol, NAPA, etc. GL-5 gear lubes are all fine, there's not a gear lube sold at NAPA I wouldn't run. Personally I run Valvoline. Make sure the GL-5 gear lube you use is a conventional, not a synthetic. Your new gears need to be kept cool and they'll run cooler when lubricated with a conventional gear lube. The exact viscosity is not critical. 75W-90, 80w-90, etc. is fine.
