Jan 4, 2008 · I called GMC, and haven't had a response back yet. I am displeased with GMC and my Acadia. Not only does the exhaust smell make me sick, my sunroof has leaked and ruined my speakers. 2 Answers. Make sure you hear the fuel pump whine ( trying to pump), or it could be a 12v power issue going to the pump. To test it, unplug the fuel pump connector and apply a 12v tester to it with the key on. Also check for a fuel pump relay and collision shut off sensor, especially if the vehicle was in a minor or major collision recently.
