Well I went a tried out my new $200 Hatfield shotgun from Walmart. It is the 12 gauge semi auto. I was limited on ammo as to what I could find. I started out shooting federal 2 3/4" #8 shot with a modified choke. It shot great but wouldn't cycle. Fixing Hatfield 12ga Semi-auto? So while cleaning this $200 piece of garbage, there was a piece, the rear part of the gas valve assembly, that has a rubber o-ring that fits to an recessed area. Well that rubber o-ring is now broken. My question is What does that rubber o-ring do other than possibly keep some gas and dirt out of the spring area.
