I'd suggest a Warlock Fighter/Paladin multiclass. Start with Warlock 1, with 17 Charisma. Use the Hag's hair for +1 and first ASI for 20 Charisma. Once you hit level 6 respec to Fighter/Paladin 1 and Warlock 5. That'll give you medium/heavy armour proficiency. My favourite and honestly kinda broken run was my Githyanki Paladin 7 Warlock 5 run.
