I currently have it loaded on a MP server right now. If you've already explored the area, it's possible to delete the cells of the map from your server's save and have it reloaded. Unless you boost your weapon skill to like 5+ you struggle even with a few proper zombies (with multihit off). Things change a bit if you play with mods like Brita, Antibodies or additional recipes for crafting. Depends on settings. Personally I think it is very balanced for very rare ammo settings.
