XUV 550 shifting. I bought this 2012 unit used failing to read the reviews before purchasing. To date I have installed a new clutch, new cables and I still have trouble shifting. I brought it to the local JD dealer and was told they have to shave millimeters from each of the 6 clutch plates due to "occasional use." It's a brand new clutch!Set it low. Now, place trans in neutral, lock park brake. Start engine and rev it up to activate clutches. Run wide open for a few seconds. Let it fully come back to idle. Observe clutch on engine. Now shut off engine. If you hear a "click/pop" from the engine clutch, it isnt disengaging properly.

Whether or not the engine is running, the wheels need to be in exactly the right position to shift at all and often I can't find all of the gear positions. The shift cable is very smooth.
These clutches should be lubed with Comet GP 730A, or one of the other brands of dry moly lube, which is a spray on dry lube that keeps belt dust from gumming the works. The residue from the oil type lube will need to be cleaned off the clutches before using the new dry lube. Some of the videos show the use of motor oil, and other oil products.
