Motorola, Magnavox, RCA usually the amp is the only thing worth while and that should be rebuilt. It was mid fi, but has the potential to be used in a HiFi rig with a bit of work. Of course there are always exceptions but it really gets down to what you want to get out of it.

I'm not saying that its impossible, but sinse you are looking for a 15 inch for a seperate baffle project, almost any Magnavox 15 inch speaker will most likely work great for you.Unless it's cabinet is beyond repair, any tube Magnavox console now should be treated as a protected species. It's a nice console as it is, and it can be made with a Stereo cartridge wired for mono to play more modern records. This is a reasonably high quality console when running right, and biamped. Don't butcher it.
