However, the key will be carrier's ability to count all other mail, bundled flats, raw mail in tubs, sequenced flats, EDDM and see these numbers reflected on the report. Carriers in past counts have validated the counter's numbers.

City mail carriers, who are hourly employees and are paid overtime, get different pay than rural carriers who are paid a salary based on an annual count of the amount of mail they handle. For years, this count was done manually. A supervisor would go with mail carrier and literally count how much mail they were delivering on their route.

The problem with cutting routes in RRECS is that "a box is a box" no longer applies. Cutting one section of a route can have a greater or lesser effect than if you cut a different section. they could cut 200boxes off of you but if those address aren't the section getting parcels it won't matter.

The walking measurements are taken ONCE, before the count starts. Those same measurements are applied to all days of the count. So, the part you might have impact is done. Just be sure your sub counts raw mail, sets it aside if casing DPS or notes it if bringing back from street.
