I initially did just a battery 12VDC Cable disconnect and it did NOT fix the problem. Disconnecting BOTH the Ground and 12VDC cables and jumpering them for 30+ seconds caused a system reset. You don't know it's the switch until you test for power and ground on it. When you pop the lenses off to change the bulbs you'll see two bolts that hold the light assembly in. Remove those two bolts and that lamp base assembly should pop out of the rest of the overhead console. That base assembly runs $50-75.

At that point nothing I do will get it back on, including turning off the car and restarting it. After a while it will come back on at a restart.
