When I purchased my bow I went to my local pro shop and shot Mathews, Hoyt and Bowtech. Out of the 3, the Bowtech was a smoother draw all the way back to the 85% let off point because of its design. The Mathews was set at 65lb like the others but it had a hard cam design and for me it was very hard to pull back to the let off point.Carbon RX-8. The z7 is truly the first bow I have shot by Matthews that I really thought was a great bow.. The Maxxis was also an amazing shooting bow.. The main difference in the two I noticed was that the z7 had a smoother draw than the maxxis while the maxxis had a smoother release than the z7 .... hhhmmmm choices..new bows I am told that the dual cam is easier to adjust and paper tune vs the single cam and from my experience some of the best bows are Hoyt and Mathews. I would suggest you check out Shadow Creek Archery side plates, they have a little more contour than the Mathews side plates; Mathews are more straight up and down. There is a 50-60# Torrex in the classifieds right now for $400. I'm tempted to make my total 3 Torrex's.
