Jeep wrangler limp mode reset.
I remember some posts about "limp mode". Will shorting the negative cable to the positive post for 10 seconds do the trick and reset whatever it is that needs resetting? Or can I do it by cycling the ignition? Don't really have the extra cash for a dealer trip at the moment, and of course I bought my jeep in Jan '07, so no unlimited warranty ...

I have a similar problem with a 545RFE tranny; Code P0750, car drives in limp mode. BTW, if you want to know about "limp mode" for these trannies, it's a mechanically controlled shift, with your only options being 2nd and 3rd gears by moving the steering column between "1"/"2" and "D" respectively. You no longer have access to 1st or 4th gears.

check your connections at the trans. Remove them, spray with electronics cleaner and secure the plugs. Reset with the code with obd2 reader and drive around seeing if the code pops back up.
