A few months ago my son's older TCH started doing the same: key fob didn't work when outside T was below 40-45. Eventually it stopped working completely, but replacing the fob battery solved the issue. At first, I've swapped the battery form a 2014 fob that we barely used, but the battery lasted about a week and fob started doing the same.
