They will be waiting at the entrance of the cave, so you’ll get your well-deserved chitin right from the start. Besides chitin, you can find insane amounts of metal, stone, and flint in this cave.
You can get some on the top of the large hill around 75 47 on the map (watch out for theris!). The hill in the middle of the redwoods has crystal but it can be dangerous for a new player. If you have a Thyla tamed (or megatherium or something beefy) you’ll be ok. Go into Artifact of Immune cave (the one the first commentor means) with a good frog and a Gasmask. Just kill all Meganeuras in the rooms with the frog and it automatically generates Cement so no need to grind Chitin with the Megatherium.
