Mage does absolutely insane damage but melee is the easiest survibility. Go with whatever you want. (Imo if you are doing a <rev playthrough then go with mage) Switching classes especially so late into the game isn't a good idea. And mage is good either way (gotta abuse that purge guzzler before it gets nerfed)
