We go to St John at least twice per year and stay in the Bordeaux Mtn or Coral Bay areas. Lots of breeze there to keep bugs off, but still a lot of mosquitoes and no-see ums. We took a spray this year called Sawyers Insect Repellant with 20% picaridin and had fewer bites. I think the DEET only works well for mosquitoes.2. Re: best place for a sunset. 2 years ago. Save. My favorite is on the beach or sitting rail side at the High Tide Restaurant. The prettiest photo of a sunset didn't start out that way but when it was over, people were bumper to bumper on the beach taking pics. An orange to blood red sunset....breath-taking!
