The Roadstar has a longer stroke for more torque, where as the 1300 has a shorter stroke with higher compression. The 1300 was made to run at higher RPM range, so it's much quicker than the Roadstar.

Love my 09, 20000 trouble free miles! Mustang seat, ape hangers and Ivan’s tune are some of the upgrades that I have done. Keep in mind the 1300 is also a air-cooled bike too. So the radiator fan really was designed more for that stop and go heavy traffic in hot weather. I have never seen mine come on in the wild, just verified it during diagnostic checks. The Ivan's ECU flash also sets the temp the fan comes on at at a lower temp.
