The short version is that what Trove really rewards is playing a little everyday. Keep it up and you'll just be given a decent amount of stuff for logging in. Do that and play a little bit each day for a week, more stuff. Keep doing it, keep getting stuff, and sometimes bonus stuff. That plus grinding gems and drops is Trove.

Adding/Removing Gems. All gems can be upgraded at the Character Sheet by pressing the C key. In this menu, there will be a gems tab where you can equip and upgrade gems. Player can equip a gem by dragging the gem to an available gem slot. More gem slots will be available as you level up you class by gaining experience.

Gems are the biggest source of PR and stats in the game and the introduction to gems is really bad in this game. Once you get to world level that drops gem boxes, each box will drops gems of 3 rarities. The rare drops will be the strongest, of course. As you level, equip these to improve your PR.
