Aug 8, 2018 · 615. Aug 8, 2018. #3. Buy the block off kit, remove pump, oil tank, remote oil tank, module, and plug hole where the remote tank oil line hooked to block. There is nothing else to do other than premix. Do not try to do this without the block off kit. There is a brass bushing down in the block that used to locate one end of the pump drive. It doesn't replace the Mechanical Mikuni oil pump but instead drives it with a 12 VDC motor via a micro controller programmed to mimic the crankshaft gear rotation speed . A spark coil signal is inputted to the controller to monitor RPMs to adjust pump speed . The linkage on the throttle cam is still required to adjust the pump oil output though .$18.18. The mercury oil injection system is a popular item to remove, especially given its reputation for failure, and inability to deliver reliably after 6500 rpm. Remove oil resevoir, oil pump, mag pickup, pump drive shaft, then install plug in shaft hole.It look like you can take the 2 screws out the hold the pump in and remove the pump. Now take the gear #22 off and reinstall the pump. Unfortunately Merc does not make a cover for the hole when you remove the pump so it must be put back in to seal that hole. Mix your fuel 50:1.
