Suddenly, it just didn't start so I checked the basic stuff: battery was good, I had good spark, had fuel, didn't find anything wrong. Only code was P1604, which I suppose came up after so many failed attempts to start the car.The next morning, no start, no crank. Sometimes the dash lights come on when I turn the key and sometimes only one or two lights come on when I rotate the key to On. I was very surprised to find it wouldn't start up. Turn on lights, heater fan and check battery voltage while cranking, less than 9 volts is not good. Not a decisive test because modern cars have batteries that well exceed the needed cranking amps. An internally shorted battery can cause no start even with jumper cables. It is coil on plug so no high voltage to spark in the dark.
