Tradovate is great, online platform is surprisingly decent, and you can get a CQG connection to any platform that supports it. There's direct (i.e., non-CQG) integration with Jigsaw Daytradr and with TradingView (since I believe 2 weeks ago). The futures commissions on tda are nasty indeed. ~$5 per contract round trip. Terrible. But I like the interface and I think using ActiveTrader is easier and more intuitive than most other platforms I’ve tried. I’m currently trading MES on IB’s TWS platform and only paying about a buck per contract round trip.
