The 1943 Steel Penny has had a marked upward rally over the past 2 years, especially in higher grades and in its variants and errors. The highest price reached in 2023 was for a specimen with an MS68 quality, which achieved $4,440 in April ( reference ). In 2022 we have seen a 1943-S Steel penny MS68 PCGS top out at $3,720 ( see reference below ).
