I do believe katanas are busted, but not uchigatana. It's just a versatile weapon that you would keep in your inventory regardless of your build due to low requirements and weight, that is why it is so good. Nagakiba is miles better than uchi in every other cases. Try fighting malenia with uchi then nagakiba, the difference is insane.

Uchigatana pros over Nagakiba: marginally higher AR lower stat req 12+15=27 vs 18+22=40 Lighter All those factors makes it more appealing for dual wielding and min/maxing.
